In the villages crowded between the mountains, spread on the hill slopes or scattered
among the woods of the Danube Delta you will find the Romanian soul itself. The villages in Ardeal, with
fortified households like fortresses and monumental churches impress by their sobriety. Moving towards
the north of the country, to Maramures, the village image changes as you advance in the landscape. Here,
the gentle beauty of the settlements and people charms you. Near the coastline, the village has something
of the romanticism of the landscape. Far away from the agitation of the cities, Romanian villages attract
more tourists eager to escape day-to-day stress and to discover a fairytale world. The combination of cultural
beauty, traditions and the locals'hospitality is growing more and more tempting.
Bran - Moeciu area, near Brasov, is practically the place where Romanian rural tourism

Poiana Brasov, Predeal and Sinaia resorts. In Bran - Moeciu area over 200 boarding houses are waiting
for you.
Even since 1994, an important role in the development of Romanian agroturism has been
played by the National Association of Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism (ANTREC). Affiliated to the
European Federation of Rural Tourism (Eurogites), the organisation currently has a network of 30 branches,
with over 2,500 boarding houses spred all over the contry. The boarding houses are registred, according
to the degree of comfort and the quality of services.
